For returning districts the file structures used in the past will also work in 2020. However, there is both the potential for making things simpler and for more customization than ever before, which adds some complexity, but also will improve the experience for your teachers and administrators.
Returning SFTP Clients
Clients that have in place an SFTP SIS sync that was configured pre-July 15, 2020, may continue to use the sample data file templates to populate their account each year. Those files will need to be pointed to our SFTP server's new location. You learn how to do so by consulting the article Connecting to Forefront's SFTP Server.
Returning Manual Upload Clients
Clients that configure their account each year may prefer to use the new simplified data template described and attached to the article Upload Spreadsheet Format - Rostering and User Account Creation. Once the file has been prepared, their District Manager may upload the file by following the steps outlined in the article One-Time Upload of User/Student/Roster File.
Should your District Manager prefer to use the data file templates from pre-July 15, 2020, please note that our system still accepts those files. Should you wish to upload those legacy files, please upload them in the following order:
If the files are not uploaded and committed in the order outlined above, they will not be accepted by the system.
Account-Level Updates for 2020-21 Renewing Accounts
Please note that there are additional opportunities to customize your account as of July 15, 2020. These include new options for demographics, proficiency naming, and options to add additional standard systems depending on your plan type.
Should you wish to update your account with this new information, please complete the on-boarding questionnaire linked here and let our team know when it has been completed. We will be happy to update your account and share additional column headers to add to your data file(s) to make sure that your district/school can have full advantage of Forefront's new features.
